Approximately 150 containers of a particular Einstein Bros. Bagels’ cream cheese variety have been withdrawn due to the possible inclusion of undeclared almonds, which could present a grave allergic response hazard for individuals with almond sensitivities.
Schreiber Foods, a Wisconsin-based company, initiated a voluntary withdrawal last week concerning units of Einstein’s Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread that were erroneously labeled on the cup as Plain, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
“Individuals with an allergy or heightened sensitivity to almonds face the danger of a serious or potentially fatal allergic reaction should they ingest this item,” the FDA stated in an official announcement.

The withdrawal was initiated subsequent to the discovery of a delivery containing conflicting lid and cup labels, the FDA reported.
The cover accurately designates the item as Honey Almond, while the container erroneously marks it as Plain. A probe indicated a restricted packaging fault that has since been rectified, and a subsequent assessment verified the problem pertained solely to this particular item.
