Despite trailing by three goals, Manchester City remain optimistic about advancing in the Champions League.
Jeremy Doku states that Manchester City hold onto their belief in overcoming Real Madrid in the Champions League and intend to depend on their capabilities in the upcoming return match.
The previous evening, City endured a 3-0 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Federico Valverde’s exceptional first-half hat-trick contributing to their downfall, making Pep Guardiola’s squad choices and tactical decisions appear misguided.
This result positions the 2023 titleholders on the verge of exiting the round of 16. However, the Belgian winger Doku maintains optimism and considers Gianluigi Donnarumma’s penalty stop against Vinicius Jr as a potential crucial turning point.
“I perceive that a 3-0 score differs entirely from a 4-0 outcome. I believe that greatly aided us. We remain assured; we rely on our capabilities,” expressed Doku, who was part of an offensive formation selected by Guardiola.
“We understand that competing at the Etihad presents a distinct match. We will require the support of our fans. If they are capable of netting three goals, why shouldn’t we?”
“It would be absurd for me to assert there’s no possibility. In football, anything can happen, so we continue to have conviction. Should we net an early goal, the contest’s dynamic changes with the supporters and all, placing them under strain.”

Doku attributes Manchester City’s loss to insufficient focus
Doku believed the final tally was unrepresentative of the play, yet he commended Madrid for their clinical efficiency in scoring.
He further stated: “It was a respectable showing from us. Undoubtedly, they netted three times, but we did generate some opportunities.”
“We were performing capably, but clearly, we need to improve on occasion and focus more keenly when facing counter-offensives.”
“In contests of this nature, one must convert the opportunities presented. Conversely, if they get an opening, they convert it, which is exactly what transpired.”
“They were simply anticipating our errors. They are a proficient counter-attacking squad, and they netted three times, so kudos to them.”
The fixture is not concluded, states Real Madrid’s backliner
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Madrid’s ex-Liverpool wing-back, stated that nobody within Los Blancos believes the contest is decided already.
He informed UEFA.com: “It’s merely the intermission. Should one rejoice during the interval and assume the match is concluded, their perspective is entirely mistaken. The entire organization understands this is not over. We have witnessed unpredictable encounters between these two clubs previously, so we cannot discount any possibility. We assume nothing and will proceed to the Etihad, aiming for a win on their ground also.”
