According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Tiger Woods was involved in an overturning vehicle incident on Friday in Jupiter Island, Florida.
The sheriff’s office did not promptly disclose any particulars regarding the incident’s cause or Woods’ physical state. Law enforcement is currently probing the matter, and a county sheriff is slated to brief journalists at 5 p.m. ET.
The collision transpired shortly after 2 p.m. within Woods’ residential community. An image captured at the location depicted the automobile resting on its driver’s side.
Woods has been striving for a comeback to professional golf tournaments, following a torn Achilles tendon in March 2025 and subsequent spinal surgery in October. His first appearance in over a year was during Tuesday’s TGL finals, where his Jupiter Links GC squad was defeated by the Los Angeles Golf Club.
In February 2021, Woods incurred major lower limb trauma during a single-vehicle collision in Southern California; his automobile overturned repeatedly in that incident, leaving him imprisoned inside. Subsequently, he underwent an urgent surgical procedure to address “compound fractures” to his right lower leg, which included a rod being placed in his tibia and screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle. A minimum of one additional operation stemming from the accident’s wounds was performed on him in April 2023.
