xTool, a firm widely recognized by creators for its laser-powered cutting and etching devices, has unveiled a novel versatile crafting apparatus named the WonderPress. While it’s not an exhaustive standalone gadget for launching an Etsy shop, the WonderPress is designed to assist in transforming creations from other equipment, such as Cricut devices or sublimation printing units, into marketable final items.
Presently, the WonderPress is accessible for advance orders, requiring a ten-dollar initial payment. An introductory price reduction slashes its cost from $399 to $279. Straight from its packaging, it functions as an alternative to devices such as the Cricut EasyPress, which employ warmth and hand-applied force for affixing iron-on or sublimation transfers onto apparel, cushion casings, or textile totes. The WonderPress’s standard thermal press component exerts a force of up to 220 pounds onto its level platform, featuring capabilities to automate its warmth and duration via predefined settings for diverse substances.
xTool plans to provide two further interchangeable attachments for the WonderPress system, though their cost has not yet been disclosed. The most compelling of these is the 3D Shaping Attachment, which utilizes suction and warmth to envelop two-dimensional printed patterns around three-dimensional items. For instance, it can be employed to personalize cell phone covers and keyboard caps. Furthermore, this attachment also operates as a vacuum molding apparatus; place a piece inside, for example, an item fabricated by a 3D printer, and the WonderPress can craft molds or a replicated plastic version.
The Crafting Kiln Attachment presents a more secure, albeit more compact, substitute for employing a domestic oven for crafting purposes. Its applications span from shrinking plastic, bending and shaping acrylic, and solidifying clay, to readying direct-to-film (DTF) transfers where an adhesive powder requires curing prior to its application onto textiles. This WonderPress kiln attachment offers more precise regulation of the warmth delivered and additionally incorporates xTool’s triple-layer composite H13 HEPA filtration system, designed to capture minute particles and unwanted smells.
